Finding restaurants around Times Square
Times Square is a useful starting point for a Midtown meal, especially when your plans include a theatre performance or sightseeing. Start with the part of your day that is fixed—such as your theatre address—then choose a search area. This guide helps you make that choice; it is not a list of recommended restaurants or a promise of available tables.
Before a show: plan around the actual venue
A Broadway theatre address is more useful for meal planning than the Times Square name alone. Check which street your venue is on and decide whether you want to eat before or after the performance. Confirm the performance schedule, restaurant service hours and any reservation directly with the relevant venue.
WorthiGO.To does not estimate walking times, waiting times or how long a meal will take. A high-scoring restaurant is not necessarily suitable for a short pre-show window, and an operational business listing does not mean it is open at the moment you arrive.
Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen or Midtown East?
For plans west of the theatre district, Hell’s Kitchen is a separate supported restaurant search. Midtown East is another option if the rest of your visit is farther east. Compare the area that fits your plans rather than assuming one Times Square search covers every nearby street.
Each area produces its own candidate set and ranking. A result’s position applies to that search, not to every restaurant in Manhattan. Switching neighborhoods can change both the available candidates and their order.
What the search area actually covers
The Times Square choice uses NYC Planning’s 2020 Midtown–Times Square NTA (MN0502), a wider Midtown area—not the footprint of the pedestrian plazas, a theatre district boundary, or a walking-distance circle. Returned candidates are checked against that stored polygon and Manhattan’s boundary.
Boundary source: NYC Open Data, 2020 Neighborhood Tabulation Areas. NTA means Neighborhood Tabulation Area; these statistical areas do not always match everyday neighborhood names.
Choose your area before searching

Results use live candidate data and the app’s existing quality rules. Counts vary; a search can return no qualifying matches. This guide does not publish a static ranking or guarantee complete coverage.
For current transit routes and service information, use the official MTA site. Confirm opening hours, access arrangements and any booking requirements directly with the venue.
